Darren Rowse is a Twit

Darren Rowse at ProBlogger posted about the benefits of Twitter. It looks like he’s just getting used to it but he has some really good ideas regarding how to use Twitter.
Twitter is for staying in touch and keeping up with friends no matter where you are or what you’re doing. For some friends you might want instant mobile updates—for others, you can just check the web. Invite your friends to Twitter and decide how connected you want you to be.
I haven’t used my Twitter account in a few months, but I’ve been rethinking it lately. Twitter could be used as a great marketing tool. I’ve seen someone use it to sell books via affiliate links. She posts the first line of a novel so it’s like a game for bibliophiles. There’s also a restaurant using it to post the lunch specials.
I think Twitter can be used as marketing tool to help your brand, get new customers and stay in touch with current customers. Darren points out some more benefits such as quick marketing research and networking.
This is my Twitter account. Do you have one?

Nice looking blog you have here. Very catchy thread title. I was just going through dropping entrecards and your title made me stop, read your post, and comment. I had previously read Darren’s article regarding Twitter as well and I do like the idea of using it as a marketing tool. Good post!
Thanks! I read ProBlogger and the header is tongue in cheek so I thought I could get a response of it.
I’ve been called a Twit myself except it had nothing to do with Twitter.
I don’t use Twitter as much as I should when it comes to posting but I have a number of friends I follow on Twitter and when I have something worth saying I Twitter.
I stopped by your Twitter page and clicked follow but I have a feeling I may not see you show up much. I also added your blog to my Blogline so I can follow any new posts you make.
I follow Darren’s blog and Twitter pages as well.
Yeah, I tried Twitter a while ago and I just can’t keep up with the micro blogging thing. I think it’s a great tool to add another marketing stream but I doubt I’m going to start micro blogging again. I do have some ideas of using it for other sites though. Thanks for the comments.
